Time Management Is The Key
Have you ever wondered what differentiates an unsuccessful person from a successful one?
Well, in general it is mindset but we are going to talk about it in another article. By the way, time management is one of the skills great persons acquire.
How to manage your time more effectively
To achieve great time organization, discipline is required. In other terms, completing your tasks, meeting the deadlines and doing the appropriate changes is necessary. Although there are some basic things which are going to boost your performance and can be done by everyone:
- Writing down your weekly schedule
This is a technique that has tremendous results in general. Having your weekly program written in a notebook can literally change your life. This is because seeing your daily activities can keep you on track.
- Taking long breaks
While this can sound ironic to you, pausing your work to do something enjoyable can have a positive impact. Breaks will fill you up with energy to continue your activity and/or help you come up with more fantastic ideas!
- Don't waste time waiting
Let's say you are sitting in a waiting room for your turn in your local dentistry. Instead of just waiting -you can have an enjoyable conversation with the other patients, read a magazine, listen to a podcast, make plans etc. JUST DO SOMETHING! This way, you can literally have a productive hour in your dentistist's. I am DEAD SERIOUS.
How to NOT manage your time correctly
- Multitasking
Doing many things at the same time can bring you the illusion that you do more in a time limit. On the contrary, this way you only reduce your useful focus on each task. Although I have to say that multitasking can actually be beneficial if you are an artist or an entrepreneur because these fields require working on many ideas.
- Saying yes to everything
Even though we don't want to disappoint no-one there are times that we have to decline many invitations. Our schedule should be based on our needs and obligations and not of anybody else. As selfish as this sounds it's a reality, Moreover, we have to be happy ourselves in order to contribute to our environment's happiness..!
- Always being late
Being late in one activity in your day can change your whole flow. Delaying always impact the next activity... and the next one, and the next one! So make sure you have planned your program well so that you can have some spare time between your activities. Also make sure you are getting prepared at least 15 minutes before your next meeting.
Conclusion
Applying all these tecniques to your daily life will definitely help you manage your time like a master! Remember, time is more precious than we think, we could say time is money although money can't buy time.
Remember?
